I do have to give a raving review for this laundry soap.  With a family of 5, we have a lot of laundry and lots of stains and I felt that this product did a great job.  It bubbled up in the washer, smelled nice, and did a really great job cleaning.  I used it on clothing, sheets, and even some pillow buddies and they all came out looking and smelling great.  I would seek this out to purchase again and would continue to use it for my family.  One side note, I do have children that are highly allergic to many commercial soaps and detergents, therefore, I usually either make my own cleaners or only buy certain organic brands.  I am glad to report, we had no allergic reactions, not even any hives!  So, I find this to be a great cleaner and very gentle on those that cannot tolerate harsh cleaners and perfumes.  :)

unjunk your junk food review

today i am reviewing "unjunk your junk food" by andrea donsky and randy boyer.  this book is very well written and full of really good and useful information.  my favorite feature is that it is gives you a food item that isn't a great choice...and WHY it isn't a great choice...and then goes on to give you a similar replacement item that is a better choice...and WHY it is a better choice.  that is just genius to me because knowing something isn't good is knowledge, but knowing how to change is action!!  i am glad to report that we have several of the good choice items already in our house...but we also have a few bad choices still lurking!  my 6 and 8 year olds were able to also read this book and understand it and it helped prompt them to want to make those few changes too.  i would highly recommend this book to anyone that is trying to make healthier and smarter choices with the food they eat!  you can visit naturally savvy on facebook or their website.

here is a little sample of some steps given in the book:

Don’t give up the foods you love, just give up the toxic ingredients.
Step 1:Take the 'Worst Ingredients' chart on your next trip to the grocery store.
Step 2:Before you toss a food product into your cart, read its entire list of ingredients.
Step 3:Refer to the 'Worst Ingredients' chart as well as the glossary in Unjunk Your Junk Food to make sure you understand the meaning of EVERY ingredient listed on the label.
Step 4:Decide if the ingredients in the product are what you want to purchase and put into your body. If not, use Unjunk Your Junk Food to help find yummy alternatives to your favorite treats with cleaner ingredients.

rice select review

as a member of mambo sprouts sample panel, we tried jasmati rice this week.  while we do not eat a lot of rice, when i do get it, it is usually minute style brown rice.  this was a long grain american jasmine...which interested me!  the first thing i noticed was that it took a little linger to prepare...cook for 20 minutes, then it sits for 10.  it was not a big deal with the meal i was making...so, we got it ready and in the bowl and then just added 1 tbsp of butter and salt and pepper.  1 cup of dry rice with 2 cups of water made over 3 cups of cooked rice, so the servings were large and "point friendly" for me on weight watchers!  i served it with beef, gravy, and broccoli.  my familiy agreed that it was worth the wait time!  it was very sweet and really good.  when i read "jasmine" i was worried that it would have a floral taste, but there was no off flavors...just a really good long grain rice.  i would definitely buy this again!  on the website for rice select, there is a coupons tab.  while there are none listed right now, i am assuming that they must offer them from their site!

here is a little additional info on rice select that was sent to me:
